For those collection letters sent out to those who are having difficultly meeting their deadlines, a collection letter sample may be the solution. This letter has been created for those who are having difficulty meeting their collection demands. These letters provide an outline or template upon which to base your letter to make it more personal and tailored to meet the needs of the individual client. It is important to note that the sample collection letter for past due invoices are not in any way indicative of how you would handle each individual case; however, when you are working with a professional service, you will have access to this much more detailed information.
The letter sample is broken down in four major sections; the first section includes the full name, address, date of birth, social security number, and most recent pay stubs. The second section will give the exact due date and amount, along with the long-term or immediate payment terms. The third section includes the exact creditor, and another section will list the long overdue payment terms (in addition to the payment terms set forth in the first section). Finally, the fourth section will summarize the client's payment history (how many payments have been late, and what amount is owing, in addition to the terms set forth in the previous three sections).
The fourth section will provide a reminder of the due date, along with a proposed payment plan, if applicable. If the client agrees to the proposed repayment plan, then the letter is completed. Some examples of sample letters combined total amount of the overdue accounts would include: Oldage Day Savings Account (OLAS) - $100, Senior Citizen Emergency Payment (SCPP) - $100 Old Age Security (OAS) - $1000, Veterans Benefits (VA) - $1000, and Unclaimed (UVB) - $5000. In most cases, all overdue accounts would be included in the total due, but it is always a good idea to double check this information. Some companies allow for clients to choose which due dates they would prefer to receive their payment from.
